New Fence Makes Good Neighbors!

Did I ever mention that I live next door to a detective that has cameras all around his house?  This can definitely be a good thing in a neighborhood.  But once I installed the new patio extension, I was on the camera every time I sat on it!  Yes, the camera in their backyard is point directly towards my back yard!  Yikes!

Well last Saturday, my babe put an end to that!  He had an 8ft privacy fence installed!  Here's how it went:

Bye! Bye!

I love the new fence!! Those are solars lights on the fence.  They cast a beautiful glow at night! I can now sunbath, be naked (jk!!) or do whatever I want without peeking neighbors! Especially since there is a field behind me!

Today I ordered this rug from Ballards Design.

I'll post pics once it arrives!  Happy Summer!

  3. I can only imagine how thrilled you must be with your new fence. I love the privacy of my backyard, and that would be very upsetting to me.

great! It looks very nice too, neat they put the solar lights on it.

  9. Wow! Well, I can see I'm going to love your blog just from it's name, that made me laugh out loud and nod my head! I LOVE what you did with your backyard and that privacy fence just is like gravy on top of mashed potatoes made with real old-fashioned cream and lots of butter, YUM! The solar lights are an utter stroke of genius. I love the pattern and texture they added to the fence during the day, bet they're absolutely awesome goregous at night when they shine their subtle light. Only goes to show that no matter how small in square footage one's own particular patch of Heaven may be, we can always improve upon it!

  13. Loving the new fence and it would have been a must as well! I can not believe he would have a camera on your yard. You will love your Ballard rug. I have the black rectangle version in our dining room. It is four years old and still looks good as the day it arrived. Where did you get your solar lights from? Thanx for partying at THT!

  16. I love the solar lights! Big Lots, huh? I wonder if my Big Lots has any... :)

(It would totally freak me out if I had a neighbor that had a camera trained on any part of my property - creepy!)

  21. Wow, I can understand wanting to protect the property, but my goodness - you need to be able to sit in your backyard without fear of being watched all the time - great solution - I do believe good fences do make for good neighbors! Beautifully done and the lights are a wonderful addition! I appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,
