The pictures below are the steps I took. These photos were taken with a cell phone 1 year ago. The stove top has held up very well with only a touch up done last month. I was happy with the results while I continue to save for a new stove! Tomorrow I'll share pictures of my painted kitchen cabinets.

Wow.. that's fantastic. I have been contemplating painting my Kurig coffee maker ~ I want it a funky green color. I think you've just talked me into it. : )

I had no idea you could do that. Does the stove top have to be entirely clean? Mine is several years old and even tho I clean it, it has some of that stained grease look. Also, can you then scrub the top with something like soft scrub after its been painted? Thanks for the great post!

You do have to clean the stove. The product Thomas Liquid Stainless Steel, recommends cleaning with with windex! After it is painted you can only use soapy water, no abrasive cleaners.

I have been wanting to paint my kitchen cabinets for the last 7yrs, which is as long as I lived where we are now!
Question: Did you sand or use TSP on the cabinets to rough them up, or did you just paint right over the top? Also, now that you have painted them, how is the paint holding up to everyday wear & tear and cleaning?

Hi Shawna! Thanks for commenting! I am sorry for the delay in responding to you. I did not prime or sand my cabinets before painting them! Only cleaned the outsides and let them dry. I use Behr Paint and Primer in one Pure White. It has been two years and they are holding up well. I used the same paint color to paint my bed and while I had the brush "wet" I did hit a few spots, but that's all. Keep in mind I live alone so not much wear and tear, especially in MY kithchen! Good Luck!
Hello... How has your stove held up now in 2013? We are thinking of doing the same to an old 40 inch stove, but we are taking it to an automotive painting center. LOL... Sounds funny, every place I called was like paint a what? A stove... A boat? No a stove... LOL....
