After the day I experienced at work yesterday, I knew I had to get busy doing SOMETHING today.  I have found that working on a project is actually relaxing to me.  So, I decided today was the day I spray paint my bedside tables.

I purchased this "plant stand"? about 14 years ago at Big Lots.  It was cheap and it was tall enough for my bed!  It has served it purpose well.  Something to sit a lamp on and an alarm clock as well.

About 4 years ago I purchased this table at Ross Dress for Less.  It was very affordable, although I don't remember the exact price, If I know me, it was not more than $25.  It sits on the other side of my bed and the drawer was a needed accessorie!  I was content!

I'm not a matchy, matchy person. Especially when it comes to furniture. So the fact that neither of these pieces matched did not bother me at all.   I did, however, like that they kinda went together though.

Fast forward 3 years and I discovered DIY bloggs, home decor blogs, fashion blogs, etc.  I tell myself, "You can do this too"!

I stopped and purchased spray paint primer and a gloss white on my way home from work last night.  I was excited to start earlier this morning.  The pictures above are with primer.

While waiting for the primer to dry, I decided to start a pot of good ol pinto beans!  The weather here dropped like 25 degrees last night! It was nice and cool this morning while I was spray painting.  I have been waiting for this day!!!

After sorting through beans, washing them and adding a big ol unhealthy ham hock, the beans go on.  I no longer soak my beans; just simmer on low all day.

Back to garage to finish spray painting!

I'm pretty happy with the results.  Since my bedroom is small and I have a big bed, I wanted to paint the furniture white.  They look ok.

I HAVE to have that little fan blowing on me at night!

The colors in my home are such that I can move things from one room to another.  The crystal lamps I got 15 years ago at an auction in Ohio.   I just recently pulled them out.  I have had many cheaper lamps on the night stands, but decided these should be used now instead. The shades with hanging crystals I got at Goodwill!  See that purple owl on the garden stool?  She came from Marshalls.

These end tables will work until I can afford new bedroom furniture!  Those roses are sitting on a small dresser with 4 drawers.  It is my next project.  But I plan to paint it, not spray paint. I just put these pillows on the bed.  The red ones are pillow covers I had stored away.  The purple one I got at a thrift store several months ago.  I really like it.  It is from Pottery Barn.  The bedding is also from pottery barn; duvet cover, shams and sheets that I ordered online.

And did I mention that I bleached my hair on Thursday evening?!?

I'm looking like this now.......

Albeit 30 years older and 30 lbs heavier than Amber Rose!
Now to check on those beans!

I've joined these link party today! Enjoy!

I'm not sure what I love most, the "new" bedside tables or tha pot of beans with that yummy ham hock! I see you lounging on the bed, bowl of beans in hand, admiring your work for the day :-)

You are one busy woman, and working wonders.

I love what you did to the tables, they are really cute. And the crystal lamps ah sigh.

Everything looks wonderful including the beans.

Watching paint dry is my least favorite pastime. Your patience was well worth the wait. It all looks gorgeous. I'm envious of you climbing into bed tonight in a fresh room, well fed and glamorous to boot.

Thanks again everyone for viewing and commenting! I'm still learning the "link party" rules. I think I added the parties to this post and not just to my blog. I think that is how it goes, right?
