Green Grass In Fort Worth, Texas - July 28, 2013

Above picture is the sweet potato vine in my neighbors front yard!  Gorgeous!  Below is a video of my front yard!  Thanks to the rain we've had and my Babe taking the time for frequent hand watering, it is thick and luscious!!  Enjoy!

It's nice and green here in Rockwall too. There's a greenbelt behind our house and this time last year it was crunchy brown. This year it's a jungle! It's amazing the difference a little rain makes. Let's hope August stays as mild as most of this summer has been.

Lush and green, such a beautiful lawn for August! I've grown sweet potato vine in planters and just love the big leaves and how it trails down the sides...so pretty!
Thanks so much for sharing at Amaze Me Monday..
Blessings,

Looks great! I love me a green lawn too. It is easier for me to keep my backyard green because I have several tall trees that shade the grass and keep the moisture in the soil longer; still, we've had crazy weather again this year (SE Wisconsin). Tons of rain and cold during "spring" and everything was green and lush - a couple of times I cut the grass 2x within 10 days (usually it's once a week, and when it's dry, maybe every 2 weeks)! Then the heat and tropical dew points came and with it, dry conditions. So, I've been watering. I keep the back green because that's where I 'live' during the summer; the front yard, well, everyone more or less lets their lawns brown out if we don't get enough rain. It drives me crazy! All sun and little shade because my street trees will take years to grow big enough to give decent shade. My neighbors cut down mature shade trees three years ago and ever since, both their lawn and mine FRIES during the summer. Idiots! I live within seven miles of Lake Michigan, and it's ridiculous what the city charges for water! I expect your water bill must be expensive. Lovers of green pay a price! I know Texas experienced bad drought conditions last year and the climate in general has been getting more arid and hotter, and even with the rains this season there is a water deficit. The "new normal" I guess. You have a beautiful house, yard and garden. Green with envy (har!)
