White Kitchen Cabinets

The second DIY project I undertook, was painting my kitchen cabinets.  Let me start by saying that DIY was and is still not me! But after reading and viewing all the decorating and DIY blogs out there, I decided, if they could do I could do it.  So "Just Do It", I did.  I started on Friday of Mother's Day Weekend 2011.

I selected an all in one Primer and Paint from Home Depot.  I don't remember the color, it's in the garage, I could go look but....  I do remember there are 1000 different kinds of white.  I finally choose one.

The doors were removed and labeled with corresponding numbers so I would remember which door went where.

In my garage I painted the doors early Friday evening, working into the night.

I then painted the cabinets themselves, which was the hardest part of the job.  Covering and taping.

Notice that I did not remove anything from the cabinets.  This is afterall a DIY and not a professional job.   Everything got at least two coats of paint.

By Sunday evening everything was completed.  If I had to do it over. I would solicit help.  It is not a perfect DIY, but it made a WORLD of difference to my Little, Bitty, Kitchen!  I still enjoy the end results today!  I apologize for the picture quality.  These were taken with my cell phone.

You did a fantastic job! The white cabinets really opens up the space. I don't think I removed anything out of my cabinets either. Honestly I don't even remember thinking to do that. Like you, when I did my space over I just jumped in and did it. No regrets although I see some places that could have been painted better had I known how at the time.

I started my project alone and then some girlfriends came over and leant a hand. Thankfully too because they borrowed power tools which made removing the hardware that much easier and faster!

Again, fantastic job!
